If you've arrived late and missed Welcome Week activities, don't worry! Support is on hand to help you settle in.
Take a look at the checklist below for what you need to do to get started at Queen Mary.
1. Complete Enrolment
You should complete the pre-enrolment task in MySis as soon as you receive the email. You can complete Pre-enrolment before traveling to the UK.
Once you have arrived in the UK you must return to the Pre-Enrolment task and upload all visa documentation requested in the task, along with proof you are in the UK.
2. Check you’ve received your IT login details
Your IT username and password information should have been emailed to you directly over the summer. If you haven't had yours or are having difficulty logging in, please contact IT Services at helpdesk@qmul.ac.uk or call 0207 882 8888.
3. Get in touch with your Student Support Officer
Find out who your Student Support Officer is and get in touch with them. They will be able to help you catch up with anything you've missed.
4. Meet your academic advisor
You may have already received an email inviting you to a meeting with your Advisor. You can find out who your advisor is and their contact details via the MySIS student record system. Your Student Support Officer will also be able to point you in the right direction. Read about what to expect from your academic advisor.
5. Familiarise yourself with QMplus
QMplus is our virtual learning environment at Queen Mary. Log in using your IT username and password, and learn how to get started with the QMplus induction module. There are a number of video tutorials to help you get started.
6. Get involved with societies, events and trips with the Queen Mary Students' Union
The Students' Union is here for you, from start to finish, and it is never too late to join in - and by being a student you are automatically a member! Choose from over 300 societies, sports clubs, volunteering groups, student media outlets and liberation campaigns where you can try something new, continue an existing hobby and meet new people. Get moving at Qmotion, the on-campus Sport & Fitness Centre and several sports programmes including Get Active and Social Leagues. You can join any of these activities at any time throughout the year. There are also lots of events, trips and activities each week throughout the year on campus, in Students' Union venues, in London and further afield. See what's coming up on the Students' Union What's On page.
7. Register with a GP
There is a free Student Health Service on Mile End campus (Geography building). Register with the Student Health Service online if you live on Mile End campus, or in the postcodes E1, E2, E3, or E14. If you live outside of these, find a GP close to you on the NHS find a GP website.
