Geography

Geography at Queen Mary explores the critical challenges of our time, from globalisation and environmental management to climate change and social justice. We combine a broad foundation in key elements of geography with a choice of specialist subjects should students prefer to focus more on physical or human geography pathways in their degree programme. You will gain subject-specific and transferable skills, from research methods to communication and problem-solving, unlocking a wide range of career options after graduation. Join us to expand your knowledge of the interconnecting social, political, economic and environmental processes that shape the world around us.
I chose to study here because it’s in London. The urbanity of London makes it a potential field site for research and an interesting space of change and interactions. I was also intrigued by the history Queen Mary has and the commitment of the University to social justice.
