Liberal Arts

A new subject for the School of Languages, Linguistics and Film, our BA Liberal Arts programme combines the academic expertise of six schools within the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.

Liberal Arts is an exciting area are of study combining topics such as Literature, Philosophy, Politics, Culture, Languages, Geography, Development and much more! The interdiciplinary nature of the subject, encourages you to assess the world around you, consider topical areas of concern and view global issues from a variety of perspectives.

As part of studying the subject, you will cross boundaries, cultures and disciplines choosing from a range of module themes and discovery areas to receive a truly unique study experience.

Our BA Liberal Arts programme combines the academic expertise across the School of Languages, Linguistics and Film together with the School of English and Drama, the School of Politics and International Relations, the School of Geography, the School of History and the School of Economics and Finance.

Our new programme takes an innovative approach to the subject of Liberal Arts. Designed to provide students with a fundamental knowledge of the humanities and social sciences, graduates from the programme will have a grounded knowledge across the disciplines and a variety of transferrable skills making them well placed to take up exciting roles in a diverse range of sectors.
