Being Approached for Advice

A student may approach you for advice. In these situations, you should:

• Use Active Listening skills
• Learn more about the situation, about how to handle the situation and the resources available
• Signpost students to campus and community support and resources
• Follow up the meeting with a conversation or e-mail.
