She learned Portuguese in Portugal through self study, ultimately offering translating services to a number of academics.-After gaining the Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults in Lisbon, she specialised in teaching the Cambridge English exams FCE, CAE and Proficiency at International House in Coimbra for a number of years. She went on to gain the Diploma in English Language Teaching to Adults.
