HSK Exams

The Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi HSK test (or Chinese Proficiency Test) is China’s only standardised test of standard Chinese language proficiency or Mandarin language proficiency for non-native speakers. It approximates to the English equivalent which is the TOEFL.

The Queen Mary University Confucius Institute is currently an official test centre in the United Kingdom for the Chinese Proficiency Tests (HSK).

It is an internationally recognised standard in assessing your Chinese language level and the result can be used to apply for Confucius Institute Scholarship (CIS). It is also accepted by universities in China as proof of Chinese proficiency. The HSK tests include listening, reading and writing skills.

Note: Currently, ONLY paper-based HSK 1 and 2 tests are offered in QMUL HSK test center. All classes and exams will take place at the QMUL Mile End campus, E1 4NS
