Vivien Leigh annual remembrance event

We were pleased to host the Vivien Leigh Circle again for their annual remembrance of the star. The event was impeccably curated by Dr. Lucy Bolton and highlighted the continued scholarship QMUL is doing on Leigh, as well as talks from PhD students Cathy Lomax (who also painted the art for the programmes) and Georgia Brown (who joined us via Skype from Scotland). The afternoon also included a screening of THE ROMAN SPRING OF MRS. STONE, generous pours of Negronis, a raffle of Leigh memorabilia and a visit from Puppy Vivien. BLOC is complete!

Work is now complete on BLOC, a new Film & Drama Arts Research Facility at QMUL, comprising a state-of-the art 4K cinema with Dolby ATMOS, gallery equipped for multiscreen projection, sound-proofed film studio, performance project room, with interaction and monitoring capability from an adjacent post-production suite, and a sound-proofed recording booth. All spaces are fully accessible, physically connected, and digitally networked.  We are excited to be programming this space from January 2023.

AI and Film Masterclass with Rahul Puri

“It’s important to find a balance between using AI and human creativity”, says India’s top film school director at Queen Mary University of London  Rahul Puri, Director of Academics at Whistling Woods International—India’s top film school and one of the world’s top 10 film schools—recently delivered a masterclass on AI and Film at Queen Mary’s School the of Arts.
