QMSU Celebrates Student Volunteers at Annual Awards

Queen Mary Students’ Union (QMSU) has recognised the outstanding contributions of student volunteers at its 2026 Volunteering Awards, celebrating more than 3,000 hours of volunteering carried out by students over the past year.
The awards honoured achievements across student-led volunteering groups, community organisations and individual volunteers. Teddy Bear Hospital was named Volunteering Group of the Year, while Griffin Community Trust won Volunteering Group Event of the Year for its Christmas dinner event. Amelia Klaczynska, President of Teddy Bear Hospital, received the Volunteering Group Volunteer of the Year award.
Among the individual awards, Aditya Arun Lad was recognised with the Biggest Impact of the Year Award, while Rachel Leung was named Volunteering Champion of the Year. Other winners included Isobel Ross-Archer (New Volunteer of the Year), Najah Said Sulub Jama (Community Volunteer of the Year) and Rasika Khemka (Sustainability Volunteer of the Year).
QMSU also celebrated its partner organisations, with Solidarity Sports winning Community Organisation of the Year and Great Ormond Street Hospital receiving the One-Off Volunteering Opportunity of the Year Award.
