Optimal switching and Barabanov norms for linear switched differential equations in low dimensions

Supervisor: Dr Ian Morris

Project description:

This project is part of a programme whose aim is to extend current techniques in the control theory of switched linear differential equations by introducing ideas from ergodic theory and topological dynamics. This PhD project can be adapted to encompass a range of possible approaches, but is likely to be suitable for candidates whose interests include either ergodic theory or dynamical systems and who have studied introductory functional analysis.
