Research at the School of Mathematical Sciences covers a broad range of key subjects in pure and applied mathematics. Our research activities are consolidated into six research groups  which reflect the School’s key strengths: Algebra, Combinatorics, Complex Systems and Networks, Dynamical Systems and Statistical Physics, Geometry and Analysis, Probability and Applications. Details can be found in the specialised research groups sections.

The School’s overarching goal is to achieve and sustain research excellence by creating a supportive research environment and fostering a research culture that enables a wide range of mathematical activity to flourish. Details about our activities can be found in the Event section.
