Handset

The old Mitel phone has been replaced by the new Yealink handset T33G Model as shown below:

Physical phones are now only to be used in Common Areas e.g. lift lobbies, stairwells, shared spaces etc. They are no longer given to staff for office use. 
 
Below is guidance in how to make use of the new Yealink handset: 

 

Making a call

Pick up receiver and enter the number.   
 
To make a call using the hands-free speakerphone dial the number without picking up receiver then press the ‘Call’ soft key.  
Note: there is no need to dial a prefix ‘9’.

To hang up place receiver back on the phone. 
 
If the call was made via the hands-free speaker phone press the ‘Endcallsoft key

Receiving a call

When a call is received you can either answer it by picking up the receiver or pressing the ‘Answer’ soft key. Common area phones 4

 

Transferring a call

To transfer a call press the ‘Trans’ soft key.  Common area phones 5

Dial the number you wish to transfer to. 
 
a) If you wish to transfer without speaking to the receiver press ‘B Transfer’ option.  
 
b) If you wish to speak to the receiver before passing call press ‘Call’ option. 

If the ‘Call’ option was selected, you will be connected to the receiver.

If you selected the ‘B Trans’ option, the call will transfer right away.  
 
A message will appear: ‘Transfer operation complete!’.  
You can hang up.

When ready to transfer press the ‘Trans’ soft key. 
 
A message will appear saying ‘Transfer operation complete!’.

Using directory to find user

To view staff directory:

  • press the ‘Dir’ soft key  
  • select: ‘2. Corporate Directory’

Using the keypad type in the name of the person.  
 
The navigation keys can also be used to scroll through the directory. 
 
Then press ‘Call.

Forwarding a call

Navigate to ‘Menu’ using the scroll soft key. 
 
 
 
 
 
 

 

 
 

 

 
 
Select ‘Features’ then ‘Call Forward’.

Using the navigation keys: 
 

  • Set the ‘Always forward’ to ‘On’. 
  • Enter the ‘Forward to’ contact number 

or using the Directory(DIR) select desired contact.  

  • Press ‘Save’   

 

  • You can also select the ‘No Answer’ Forward.  
  • Set the ‘After Ring Time’ field to set the desired ring time to wait before forwarding call. 
  • Press ‘Save’.

After setting call forward, an icon will appear on the top of the LCD screen as a reminder that call forward is set.  Common area phones 14

 

Conferencing

A conference call with up to 5 participants can be setup.   
 
While on a call, press the ‘Conf’ soft key. 

Dial a number or select from Directory and press ‘Call’.  
 
 
 
Once the recipient answers, press the ‘Conf’ soft key again to merge the calls together. 
 
To add another participant press ‘Conf’ and enter number then press ‘Call’. 
 
Once user is on the call press ‘Conf’ to join all participant to the Conference call.
