IT Services plays a pivotal role in realizing Queen Mary's strategic goals of excellence in research and teaching. Our dedicated team of over 190 professionals diligently works to develop, support, and manage a wide range of services, ensuring a seamless IT experience for students and colleagues.

Platforms & Services

Our frontline support team at Platforms & Services is responsible for:

- IT Service Desk support
- Desktop and audio-visual (AV) support in teaching spaces
- Central print services
- PC's, laptops, and mobile devices support

Additionally, Platforms & Services manage IT supplier relationships, oversee the CopyShop, and provide support for events. They also lead the design and delivery of key infrastructure services, covering networks, servers, virtualization, storage, telephony, audio-visual equipment, directory services, web management, identity and access management, remote access, email, infrastructure, desktop management, and more.

Office Of The CIO

The Office of the CIO handles:

- Technology and digital solutions design
- System protection and risk management
- IT finance and procurement
- Communication and staff engagement through Enterprise Architecture, Information Security, Supplier Management, and Business Management services.

Research IT Services

Supporting world-class research at QMUL, Research IT Services offers:

- IT consultancy
- High-performance computing services
- Research data storage
- Specialist applications

They also provide support for teaching computational methods across all faculties.

Projects and Change

Change Delivery Team encompassing PMO, Programmes, Projects and Products delivery to improve Students (and Staff) experience supported by a team of expert Business Analysts and Business Relationship Managers.

Solution Development

Solution Development manages critical data such as student, staff, financial, and course information. They also handle online processes like student registration and timetables.

Technology Enhanced Learning Team (TELT)

TELT provides educational support and direction for technology-enhanced learning applications. They engage with staff and students, offering support, training, or advice on anything related to the use of technology in teaching and learning.

IT at Queen Mary: Strategy Implementation

The Strategy Implementation section outlines how IT Services supports Queen Mary's overall strategy and ensuing business change activities. The strategy for the next planning period is currently under development and will be made available once finalized.
