Key collections

You can collect your keys and move into your room from the commencement date given on your licence agreement or any day after the commencement date of your licence agreement.  You will need to produce a copy of your arrivals pass and photo identification to collect your keys. Connecting to wi-fi in Halls when you arrive

If you are staying on campus, there will be a temporary wi-fi service set up in Halls. Details on how to connect your device can be found in the Welcome Letter

Please note that this is a limited wi-fi service only offered to students staying in Halls. As soon as you enrol, you will be able to obtain full access to the IT services at QMUL.

Please also visit the IT Welcome Guide for further information:

Register with the local doctor

We recommend that all QMUL students register with QMUL/local doctor prior to arrival. This will allow you access to health treatment should you require it. Residents at the Mile End and Whitechapel campuses can register with QMUL Student Health Service (SHS) located on the ground floor of the Geography Building, Mile End Campus.

To register with the SHS, please visit and follow up the registration instructions there.

Students living at Dawson Hall (Charterhouse Square) can use the NHS Choices website to find medical centres near to Dawson Hall. The postcode for Dawson Hall is EC1M 6BQ.

Insurance cover for your belongings, to the value of £5,000 (or £6,000 for Disabled students), is included in the cost of your room. This cover is provided by a company called Endsleigh Insurance.

Please note that you may require additional insurance depending on the items you are bringing with you and their value; key areas to check are the value of your computer equipment. Additional insurance will be required for bicycles and mobile phones.

Bed linen and kitchen packs

All Queen Mary residences are fully furnished. However, residents are reminded that they will need to provide their own bedding (linen, duvet, pillows etc), towels, cooking and eating utensils. The average size of the beds are 190cm x 90cm.

You can pre-order bedding packs & kitchen packs from our online shop. Any items purchased will be available for collection from the Reception in France House. Please do not submit any orders until you have accepted a place in College accommodation and received confirmation.
