Ata Hanifee Bin Zawawi

Ata Hanifee Bin

PhD Candidate in Translation and Adaptation Studies

I completed my BA in literature and linguistics at the International Islamic University of Malaysia, where I developed skills to analyse literary texts through the lens of linguistic theory, multimodality, and stylistics. These were channelled into my MA dissertation on film adaptations (University of Malaya).

My PhD thesis bridges cognitive poetics and cognitive film theory to advance an interdisciplinary model as a practical and evaluative tool for the film industry.

Before joining QMUL, I was a pre-university lecturer, teaching introductory linguistics. I am also part of creeptheatrics, a Malaysian independent group focused on the arts.
