Film Screening and Panel Discussion: Dziga Vertov, Anniversary of the Revolution (Godovshchina Revoliutsii, 1918)

The UCL SSEES Russian Cinema Research Group is hosting the London première of Dziga Vertov's recently rediscovered film, Anniversary of the Revolution (Godovshchina Revoliutsii, 1918).

The screening, which lasts a little over 2 hours, will be introduced by film historian and scholar, Nikolai Izvolov (Museum of Cinema, Moscow), who worked on the reconstruction of the film. It will be followed by a panel discussion with Jeremy Hicks (Queen Mary University of London), Maria Korolkova (University of Greenwich), Kristin Roth-Ey (UCL SSEES) and Robert Service (Emeritus Professor of Russian History, Oxford University, and Hoover Institution Senior Fellow), hosted by Rachel Morley and Phil Cavendish UCL SSEES Russian Cinema Research Group.
