In addition to the home campuses in London, Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) also operates from its own state of the art, custom-built campus in Gozo, Malta. In 2017, QMUL and the Barts and the London School of Medicine and Dentistry launched a 5-year Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MB BS) programme in Malta. Up to 60 students a year will be accepted onto this 5-year programme, with the seventh annual intake recently joining us.

We are now seeking to appoint an experienced individual into the role of Senior Lecturer in Faculty Development. We deliver the same curriculum as the London campus and students have hospital-based clinical placements in four of their 5 years of the MBBS programme. The Senior Lecturer will report to both the Head of Faculty Development and the Deputy Dean, providing support and guidance for faculty development initiatives, particularly addressing the ongoing professional development needs of local clinical teaching staff.

Applicants therefore need to be able to demonstrate considerable flexibility, drive, and sensitivity to strategic priorities. This role will mainly involve remote working in Malta, but with frequent visits to the medical school located in Gozo and with regular ongoing contact between relevant teams and stakeholders in both Malta and in the UK, as well as possible occasional travel between Malta and London.

Informal enquiries should be addressed to Professor Catherine Molyneux c.a.molyneux@qmul.ac.uk.

Please submit a current CV along with a covering letter outlining why you are suitable for the role, referencing your skills and experience against the job specification to Marika Zammit Rosso m.zammitrosso@qmul.ac.uk (HR Administrator).

Closing date for applications is Sunday, 19th November 2023.
