The Student Office at QMUL Malta is a one-stop office for all your needs. The Office provides essential services to ensure that you are supported throughout your studies in Malta. Our Academic and Pastoral Support Office goes a step further, ensuring that your welfare and well-being are respected throughout your studies.
All students are assigned a personal tutor who they can discuss academic issues and concerns with.
Our Academic and Pastoral Support Office offers advice, guidance and practical support to students with specific learning difficulties, such as dyslexia.
This support may include screening students for dyslexia and organising formal educational psychologists’ assessments, arranging individual tutorials from specialist dyslexia tutors, and additional time in exams. More details are available from the Academic and Pastoral Support Office. Students are encouraged to contact the Service before starting their programmes to discuss any specific needs.
In line with our strategic vision of creating a truly inclusive environment for all of our staff and students, including those who have disabilities and difficulties accessing text, Queen Mary is committed to ensuring that all of our digital estate is accessible.
With this aim in mind, we are reviewing our existing document templates to ensure that they comply with the international WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standard. We are also addressing the content on our virtual learning environment, QM Plus, and advising colleagues on best practice to help the people using our website access its content.
SensusAccess is a self-service, alternate media solution for educational institutions. SensusAccess allows students, faculty, staff and alumni to automatically convert documents into a range of alternate media including audio books (MP3 and DAISY), e-books (EPUB, EPUB3 and Mobi) and digital Braille.
The SensusAccess digital conversion tool can be used to upload documents and request them back in a format of your choosing. See our pages on how to convert a document and to access this facility (you will need a @qmul.ac.uk email address).
