Code of Practice

The Queen Mary Code of Practice has been introduced to raise standards in accommodation let to students. By signing up to the Code landlords are committed to follow good management practice and provide good quality housing. By insisting on adherence to the Code, we are able to assure students and their parents that properties advertised on our site is of good quality and well managed, to the best of our knowledge.

Sometime tenants may feel dissatisfied with the accommodation or service they have been provided with by a landlord. We may contact the landlord on an informal basis to discuss any complaints/problems that have arisen, or more formally if any of the clauses of the Code have not been adhered to, we may also visit the property to make an inspection.

If we are satisfied no breach of the Code has occurred, no further action will be taken. If a breach has occurred and the landlord agrees to rectify the issue within a reasonable time period, no further action will be taken. If the landlord fails to rectify the breach we may suspend their use of the service, either for a determined period or indefinitely.

If you have any questions about the Code or wish to make a complaint, please contact us.
