What influenced your decision to choose a LLM at Queen Mary?

I have been working as a tax advisor in my home country for more than 4 years and QMUL’s modules match exactly with the contents and skills that I need to master.

I chose the International Tax Law LLM at Queen Mary to further improve my knowledge of the current issues that are being discussed on this field, which is constantly developing. A pivotal feature of QMUL’s LLM that helped me make this decision is its focus on comparative law within the tax modules.

How did you find the teaching and learning?

The lectures have been remarkable since in many cases analytical thinking is fostered so as to fully grasp the underlying logic of many rules that otherwise would be difficult to understand.

The reading is appropriate as well. Every module has a reading list which is extremely helpful.

What piece of insight or advice would you offer for future students?

I would recommend this specialisation to anyone interested in bolstering their knowledge in Tax Law with an international and comparative focus.

What was key about your programme/ were there any highlights?

Studying this LLM has allowed me to meet people from several countries and backgrounds and also make friends.

The deeper understanding that I achieved has strengthened my career as I feel confident that I have a new standpoint from which I can look at practical issues and solve them with relevant materials to support any conclusion I arrive at.

Would you be willing to share your Testimonial? If so, you could help a prospective student to make an informed choice to study at Queen Mary. (Class of 2020, 2021 and 2022 only).
