Our LLMs will provide you with in-depth immersion in commercial law from both comparative and international perspectives, within a common law framework. They will enhance your understanding of your chosen legal specialism, whilst also focusing on prominent current issues and practice, for a fully rounded educational experience.

We are also proud to offer a bilingual Double LLM in partnership with Université de Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, comprising Queen Mary’s LLM in International Business Law (in English) and the Sorbonne’s LLM in French and European Law (in French).

Learning and teaching

Teaching at Queen Mary in Paris is delivered by our expert CCLS academic team, as well as guest lectures from leading experts and practitioners, many of whom act as advisers to governments, industry, regulatory authorities and NGOs, both nationally and internationally.

Your modules will be taught in intensive blocks offered in the daytime, evening or on occasional Saturdays, which are spread throughout the academic year, allowing you to adapt your programme to your personal study plan or professional or other commitments.

Our students benefit from smaller class sizes, which allow for greater interaction, meaningful participation and more individual attention from academic and professional services staff.

Queen Mary in Paris is housed at the University of London Institute in Paris (ULIP) ULIP, in the 7th arrondissement, just across the river from the heart of legal Paris, and moments from some of the city’s cultural highlights.

Events also include public lectures, open to students at partner institutions and the wider legal community, thereby supplementing your studies and providing valuable social and professional networking opportunities.

Your learning will be complemented by access to the reference library at ULIP, as well as remote access to libraries at Queen Mary, the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies (IALS), and the libraries of our partner institutions.

We have a dedicated Professional Development team with careers consultants who are available to offer advice either in person or remotely. As well as general careers information, they can help with the basics of CVs, cover letters, and interview technique, to more specialised professional guidance. So whether you are embarking on your legal career or are already an accomplished practitioner, you will be supported in your professional development during your LLM.
