What influenced your decision to choose a LLM at Queen Mary?

I was always attracted by the UK educational system. I thought Queen Mary University of London offered interesting modules in Environmental Law, including international law aspects, and interdisciplinary law subjects such as Trade and Climate Change Law or Animal Law, Media and Culture.

How did you find the teaching and learning?

Teachers were very committed to guiding the students during the research and elaboration of our assignments. I also would like to underline their availability and strong support, not only during classes but also for potential job opportunities. Finally, their willingness to include us in the class discussions was very enlightening and permit us to further develop our knowledge. Having the possibility to express my thought on a subject with the teachers was deeply useful.

Has gaining a deeper understanding of your specialisation helped your career?

The Environmental Law LLM at Queen Mary offered interesting job opportunities and influenced me in my choice of career. I am now an Environmental Law PhD researcher at Université de Saint-Louis in Brussels. In addition, I am teaching ‘practical exercises’ (as a university teaching assistant) in Public International Law at Université Libre de Bruxelles. I believe my best experience at Queen Mary was the teaching which is now very inspiring for my work.
