Criminalising Climate Defenders

Exceptional police powers being used more frequently against climate protesters. The UK government is expanding those powers to arrest, detail and convict climate protesters. How should academics and activists respond?

This conference will discuss and debate the following topics: peoples’ experiences of policing and incarceration; campaigns of resistance to criminalisation; histories of struggles for justice; and the task of building movements for social justice.
