This hybrid workshop aims to explore the criminal sanctions in the regime of intellectual property (IP), including the legislation and enforcement. It provides a platform for legal scholars, researchers, and practitioners from different legal systems to share their insights on the topic and to review the challenges and opportunities presented by emerging technologies in this field. It consists of four panels, each of which examines a key aspect of IP criminal sanctions.

"The Criteria of Criminal Sanctions in IP" focuses on the factors determining the confirmation of criminal sanctions in IP cases. The panel discusses the different criteria that have been applied by courts in various jurisdictions, their appropriation and the pros and cons.

"Criminal Sanctions and Administrative Enforcement in IP" examines the relationship between criminal sanctions and administrative enforcement in the context of IP law. The panel explores the diverse approaches taken by individual jurisdictions in this regard and considers the benefits and drawbacks of each approach.

"IP Compliance: An Interpretation of the Criminal Sanction" investigates the role of criminal sanctions in promoting compliance within the system of IP. The panel analyses how criminal sanctions have been used to deter IP infringement, as well as the effectiveness in the promotion of IP compliance.

"New Technology and Criminal Sanctions in IP" will weigh the challenges posed by new technologies in the context of criminal sanctions in the IP regime. The panel looks into the impact of emerging technologies, such as AI, web crawling and Metaverse, on IP enforcement, and assesses the implications in IP criminal sanctions particularly.
