Prof. Leigh Oakes awarded grant for project on 'The ethics of language policy and planning'

Published:

Professor Leigh Oakes has been awarded a grant from the 2019 QMUL Global Engagement Research Initiation Scheme to work with Dr Yael Peled (McGill University) on a project entitled ‘The ethics of language policy and planning: a new normative approach to contemporary global challenges’.

The project builds on their previous collaborative work (Normative Language Policy: Ethics, Policies, Principles, Cambridge University Press, 2018) by further investigating their notion of ‘pluricentric linguistic justice' and preparing the ground for a new project on the ethics of linguistic integration in an age characterised by increased immigration and ethnic diversity.
