Profile

I took my undergraduate degree in English Literature and Philosophy at the University of East Anglia and then worked in publishing and finance for seven years before completing my MA and PhD at Queen Mary. I took another five-year break from academia before returning to teach at Queen Mary in 2017. I have taught modules on twentieth-century war literature, fiction and social change, feminist theory and Virginia Woolf. My research focuses on twentieth-century women’s writing, especially midcentury experimental writing and literary representations of psychiatric treatment; I am currently writing a monograph on Anna Kavan.
