BOB (Box of Broadcasts)

BOB is an innovative shared online off-air TV and radio recording service for UK higher and further education institutions. Choose and record any broadcast programme from 60+ TV and radio channels, schedule recordings in advance, edit programmes into clips, create playlists, embed clips into VLEs, share what you are watching with others and search a growing archive of material. Kanopy is a video streaming service for high-quality informative, educational and entertaining content. On Kanopy you will find movies, documentaries, foreign films, classic cinema, independent films and educational videos that inspire, enrich and entertain. Kanopy is free to stream with your QMUL login details and can be enjoyed on your laptop, mobile phone and tablet.

Kanopy does not charge you as all costs are covered by the Library.


Please note: the DVDs at Mile End library are currently available as a "fetching service". If you require a DVD, please talk to a member of staff on the Welcome desk who will be happy to fetch the item for you (between 10am - 4pm).

The Mile End Library DVD collection consists, on the whole, of titles added to stock to support Queen Mary film courses. These include classic Hollywood plus films from British, French, Brazilian, Russian and Spanish cinema. The collection ranges from the silent era to the present day and covers major directors and genres. Check the library catalogue for availability and location. DVDs and DVD players are located in the Teaching Collection on the ground floor.


The Mile End Library microform collection is kept at the right-hand side of The Teaching Collection next to the microform scanner on the ground floor. It includes specialist collections such as the Constance Maynard Diaries.
