Gianni Sonvico Bursary

Gianni Sonvico was one of QMUL’s most outstanding School of Law graduates, who sadly died before starting what promised to be an extraordinary career. The School of Law is proud to offer a £12,000 bursary in Gianni’s memory.


  • Applicants must be assessed by Student Finance as having a residual household income of £35,000 per year or less. In order to confirm this, applicants must have had a means-tested assessment by Student Finance England, and this will need to have been returned to QMUL by Monday 7 October 2019.
  • Applicants must be in the first year of the 3-year or 4-year LLB programmes.
  • Applicants must have attended state school.
  • Applicants must be able to provide proof of household income, details of other financial support, and a tenancy agreement at offer stage.

How to apply

Applications for the Gianni Sonvico Bursary 2019/20 will open on 15 August 2019.

The deadline to apply will be 23:59 6 October 2019.

Interviews will be held at the end of October 2019 (exact date TBC).

Awardees will be eligible to apply for renewals in the following academic year, provided they meet the renewal criteria outlined to them upon award.
