Bank of England Financial and Monetary Law Conference

16 May 2014

Time: 1:00am

The Bank of England Legal Directorate, in association with Professor Rosa Lastra of the Centre for Commercial Law Studies, Queen Mary University of London, is hosting a one-day conference on Financial and Monetary Law on Friday 16 May 2014 at the Bank of England Conference Centre, London.

This conference is to convene an elite group of general counsel and other senior lawyers from central banks, regulators and international organizations (IMF, BIS), senior academics from the US, Europe and UK, and leading practitioners, together with economists and policy experts.

The conference will be held under the Chatham House Rule. A write-up of the conference will be published in the Bank of England Quarterly Bulletin later in 2014, but in accordance with the Chatham House Rule, the identity and affiliation of speakers will not be disclosed.

The conference builds on the first conference on Financial and Monetary Law in 2013. That conference successfully brought together lawyers, policymakers, academics and practitioners from diverse and international backgrounds, and I hope to be able to welcome you to the Bank in May to continue the conversation.
