Karina graduated from the Banking and Finance Law LLM in 2019. She is currently a Senior Manager at Ernst & Young, one of the world's most prestigious consulting firms. Read about her time at CCLS:
One of my greatest academic and professional goals was to study a master's degree in banking and finance at one of the best schools in the world. To achieve this goal, I not only worked and studied for many years, but also researched the best city and school to do it. After my research the responses were unique, in London, one of the largest financial centers in the world, and the CCLS of QMUL, whose wide diversity of modules, academic and networking events, as well as the outstanding staff of professors and the prestige of QMUL, were keys in making my decision.
The first week of classes, but mainly my first Financial Market Regulation class, with Professor Rosa Lastra, was a master class in which I realized that I was expecting a whole semester of knowledge and specialization with visiting luxury international professors. Furthermore, I had the honor to have brilliant classmates from all over the world, from whom I would have the opportunity to learn and whom I had the honor to represent when I was elected to represent LLM in Banking and Finance.
It is a great honor and at the same time a great responsibility, I am fully convinced that my classmates will be the future leaders in financial regulation in their respective countries, as well as in various international financial organizations, such as the IMF or the World Bank.
My experience at CCLS has been decisive not only for my academic and professional development, but also for my personal development. I have learned, on the one hand, that any goal that you set for yourself in life, as difficult and unattainable as it may seem, is possible to achieve if you have the discipline, perseverance and passion enough to work daily on it. On the other hand, I have understood that working as a team with great professionals you can achieve great things and be part of a great academic family, where diversity and open-mindedness are the essential characteristics and the main engine of growth and learning.
Fundamentally because it is decisive in enhancing the abilities and aptitudes of the students, providing them with specialized, current and relevant knowledge to be professional leaders and agents of change and development in their respective countries and international organizations.
