Why did you choose to study at CCLS?

I was encouraged by senior students at the University of Gothenburg (where I was completing my LL.M.) to make use of a nomination process at our school by which one could be accepted to CCLS for a semester. When I read up on CCLS it was clearly, from an academic standpoint, preferable to all other exchange options available at my university, which made the choice easy. Additionally and perhaps needless to say, the possibility of study in London, in the legal district, was very appealing.

What was your favourite memory as a CCLS student?

I have many fond memories. The introductory weeks with visits to major legal and financial institutions, along with the expertise of the teaching staff and the guest speakers opened my eyes to a world of possibilities post-graduation, which fed my enthusiasm for banking and finance law. The diversity of the students informed discussions in class, for instance by personal reflections on government policies and legal systems from around the globe. Also, access to IALS was a fantastic motivator.

What does being a member of the CCLS community mean to you?

I take pride in forming a community along with fellow alumni whose paths and achievements I look up to. I hope for more students from Sweden to join and have stayed in touch with both the administration and academia of CCLS in order to facilitate the continuation of the nomination process.

How did your CCLS experience contribute to your career?

CCLS is very well looked upon by major Swedish law firms and my time there definitely contributed to securing an initial interview with my employer. More importantly, studies at CCLS gave insights and a “macro” understanding that I often draw upon in my everyday work.

Why do you think prospective students should study at CCLS?

I believe my answers to the questions above are a pretty strong indication of my appreciation for CCLS. For banking and finance, CCLS is extremely well positioned both academically and geographically.
