Why did you choose to study at CCLS?

Queen Mary University of London and in specific, CCLS, provides world class leading amenities. As an LLM aspirant, I had shortlisted four colleges within the University of London. I arrived to the conclusion that the faculty and coursework for Banking & Finance Laws at Queen Mary, suited my interests the best. This made my decision relatively straightforward. Having graduated almost seven years ago, I can safely say, I have no regrets! The exposure I got at CCLS was second to none.

What was your favourite memory as a CCLS student?

It would be challenging to narrow down one favourite memory. I formed some of my fondest memories traversing Lincoln’s Inn Field Campus with my morning cup of coffee in my hand. Friends, books, the park nearby and the lectures - all these built a strong foundation that enhanced my personality, not just as a student but also as a future legal professional.

What does being a member of the CCLS community mean to you?

I feel a sense of pride and honour in being an alumnus and part of the larger CCLS community. Over the years, this has given me the opportunity of networking with esteemed luminaries of the legal fraternity, who are also a part of the CCLS community. Needless to add, being a CCLS community member myself also means being responsible towards, fostering and encouraging prospective students.

How did your CCLS experience contribute to your career?

My experience at CCLS has helped me in my legal profession to a great extent. At CCLS, one is taught how to apply the law and understand the practical nuances of complex legal issues. This has played a pivotal role in shaping me for my career as a lawyer in India. Having exposure to literature from global banking markets and having interacted with my peers from across the world, it has deepened my understanding of how the financial markets function holistically.

Why do you think prospective students should study at CCLS?

CCLS provides an all-inclusive experience for students. The faculty members and the facilities are world renowned and best-in-class. The professors take extra care to ensure that each student is keeping at pace with their coursework. As a foreign student myself, I never felt that I was away from home and always felt a sense of warmth and encouragement from my professors. To add to this, the library at the Mile End Campus is state of the art, with superior quality legal literature and a trove of writings from across the world.
