Bryan Karetnyk is an editor and a translator of Russian literature. He read Russian and Japanese at the University of Edinburgh and subsequently worked as a translator with the Civil Service for a number of years. He now lives and works in London. His recent translation of Gaito Gazdanov’s The Spectre of Alexander Wolf is published by Pushkin Press.

Noah Birksted-Breen is a theatre director and translator. He founded Sputnik Theatre Company (www.sputniktheatre.co.uk), the only British theatre company dedicated to bringing contemporary Russian plays to the UK. As a translator, his work includes contemporary plays, fiction, poetry and academic writing on theatre. Currently, Noah is researching the cultural politics of contemporary Russian playwriting and translating six new Russian plays as part of a PhD at Queen Mary.
