The French Department and the School of Languages, Linguistics and Film in Queen Mary, University of London are very pleased to announce that this year’s Malcolm Bowie Memorial Lecture will be given here at Queen Mary by Professor Charles Forsdick, who is James Barrow Professor of French at the University of Liverpool and AHRC Theme Leadership Fellow for 'Translating Cultures'. The event will take place on Thursday 3 March 2016 at 6.30 pm. in the Arts Two Lecture Theatre on the Mile End Campus.

The title of Professor Forsdick's lecture is: 'Monolingual, translingual, multilingual: French studies and the limits of world literature'.

The lecture will, we are very confident, be of great interest to colleagues and students working in the fields of French Studies, languages more generally, Comparative Literature, cultural studies and well beyond.
