I was part of creating a workshop for first year dental students where the aim was to aid in assessing whether they require additional support with their fine motor skills. It involved brainstorming ideas, creating a workbook and stations for the pupils to participate in. This workshop became mandatory as part of Yr 1 teaching. The experience was invaluable and extremely collaborative. It was very eye opening to work with staff members and hear their different perspectives on the topic. Feedback on the workshop was that it was very engaging and allowed them to realise the importance of manual dexterity and how they can improve theirs.
