Feedback is designed to help students improve their substantive knowledge of the subject as well as prepare them to take assessments in pressure induced circumstances.
Feedback on assessments is communicated (written) in a language that is accessible to students taking into consideration the different language abilities (as influenced by various factors) reflected in their work or submissions.
The feedback takes both generic and individualized forms. Generic feedback is provided in the general comments section. This addresses challenges that are not only unique to the student but also common to the class to allow students an opportunity to learn from their mistakes and from those made by their colleagues. In addition to the generic comments, corrections or feedback is tailored to the needs of individual students to ensure a balance between individual and generic feedback on the merits and mistakes made.
In the interest of consistency as students progress from one module to the next, the use of a standardised marking rubric across interrelated modules is encouraged. This is important in maintaining uniformity of the feedback students receive, especially in related modules.
