Ethics for educational scholarship

A book with some fairy lightsAny research project with human participants at Queen Mary needs the approval of the Queen Mary Ethics of Research Committee. Applications for ethical approval should following the guidance for research with human participants outside the NHS: http://www.jrmo.org.uk/performing-research/conducting-research-with-human-participants-outside-the-nhs/

When developing your scholarship plan, we strongly recommend also consulting the guidance from the British Educational Research Association (BERA), including:

  • BERA’s Ethical Guidelines for Educational Research
  • The BERA Charter for Educational Research
  • The BERA Statement on Close-to-Practice Research
