Meet the PS team - William Ng

What does your role entail?

The primary purpose of my role is to provide pastoral care to all students and to ensure every student has a positive student experience throughout their programme of study. This includes proactive support and applying early prevention mechanisms to help students get back on track with their studies and to offer guidance on matters that may be impeding a student’s ability to engage and study. The role also provides a staff member who can fight on their side which is useful in creating a sense of community among the student body.

What’s your favourite hobby?

My main hobby is sports (mostly football). This includes watching and playing. I also enjoy the gym and nature documentaries: I regularly volunteer at a local green gym.

Something the rest of the team doesn’t know about you?

This is quite difficult as I talk a lot and don’t mind sharing most of the time. Before I started working in Higher Education I worked as a Police Officer in the Metropolitan Police Service for 4 years.
