  • All visitors must apply in advance of their first visit, one day pass access will be removed
  • Visitors who forget their membership card will not be allowed entry
  • Restrictions on access to libraries during the examination periods will be removed

Eligibility

The following categories are welcome to visit our libraries, without the need to apply in advance or a genuine need to consult our physical collections by showing a valid institutional ID card once per academic year:

  • University of London staff and students
  • SCONUL Access scheme staff and students
  • Access25 card holders

Members of the general public and private researchers are welcome to visit the libraries with a One Day Pass if they can demonstrate a genuine  need to consult our physical collections. They will be asked to provide detail of their research and a list of resources they intend to use.

Apply for a One Day Pass

There is no need to apply in advance to obtain a One Day Pass. Just turn up at the Library Welcome Desk during staffed hours, with a valid form of official ID or a valid student/staff ID.

You will be asked to complete a form and, if you satisfy the criteria above, you will be given a One Day Pass.

One Day Passes are valid until the Library closing times and can be obtained once per academic year only

Please keep your One Day Pass safe, no replacements can be issued if lost on the day.

  • We reserve the right to restrict access during exam periods

If you require multi-day access and are not eligible for the SCONUL Access Scheme, you may be able to apply for Temporary Membership if you can demonstrate a genuine need to consult our collections. For more information please visit our Other visitors webpage.
