We want to attract the best students to QMUL and ensure we encourage students from all backgrounds to have the opportunity to experience studying abroad.
There are a number of external funding opportunities for students considering studying abroad at QMUL:
- Benjamin A Gilman International Scholarships
These scholarships are sponsored by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the US Department of State and are administered by the Institute of International Education. The award is for up to $5,000 for semester or academic year programmes.
- Butex Scholarships
The Scholarship is open to all undergraduate students currently registered at an institution in the USA or Canada. To be eligible to apply you must have been offered a place as a study abroad or exchange student in a UK university that is a member of BUTEX (British Transatlantic Exchange Association - Queen Mary is a member). The value of each scholarship is £500 and it will be paid to the winners once they have arrived and registered at their host university.
- Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarships
Rotary scholarships include the Academic-Year Ambassadorial Scholarship, which provides funding for one academic year of study in another country. This award is intended to help cover round-trip transport, tuition, fees, room and board expenses, and some educational supplies up to US$25,000 or its equivalent.
