AV Facilities at CCLS

The following table shows the Audio Visual technology available in each lecture room in CCLS. B1, B2 and B3 are in the basement.  B2 and B3 combine into a larger room which is called the RG room.  Room 1.16 is on the first floor.

All these rooms have a VGA connection for you to connect a laptop to output to the display (either projector or plasma screen).

There is a wireless microphone available for the RG room.  This can amplify a lecturers voice so that students at the back can hear better.

Using a Smartboard interactive whiteboard

A Smartboard allows you to use your finger to click on icons and menus (like a mouse) to control the PC.  There is also a tray of pens and an eraser for ‘drawing’ on the screen.

If you require a demonstration of the features of the Smartboard interactive whiteboards, please contact A.Khan or T.Curtis.

NOTE: The Smartboard pens are special pens that don’t use ink.  DO NOT use normal marker pens to write on the screen.

Video Conferencing

Room 1.16 has a Polycom video conferencing system, as well as a webcam for (Skype or MSN) video calls.  The Polycom video conferencing is a high quality professional system that is required at both ends.  i.e the person you are calling needs to have a Polycom system.  Skype is a lower quality video conferencing system that nearly everyone has access to.

Please contact Aqib Khan if you want to use video conferencing.
