Felix Wahler (Roy Goode Scholar, Art, Business and Law LLM, 2022)
"Without the Roy Goode Scholarship I might not have been able to come to CCLS to study in the niche field Art law, a unique specialism I was unable to study elsewhere. It also gave me the privilege to focus on my studies..."
I am from Munich in Germany and I am currently undertaking a Master’s degree in Art, Business and Law at CCLS. Before coming to CCLS I studied Art History and Law in Munich and Rome.
I chose to study at CCLS as it gave me the opportunity to study Art Law in depth and the specialism seems to be unique in the world. I found out about the Roy Goode Scholarship through CCLS. I received a message that I was one of the short listed candidates for the scholarship and I immediately applied for it.
When I found out that I was going to be one of the Roy Goode Scholars I nearly jumped out of my chair and I felt immense joy. I then felt deeply honoured as well and I was even more motivated for my studies at CCLS.
My experience at CCLS so far has been very good. I was fascinated to combine my previous studies and through my course work, I had the opportunity to go on field trips to museums and galleries in London.
The scholarship has given me the privilege to focus on my studies and not have to work part time and to immerse myself in the cultural life of London to go to as many museums, exhibitions and art performances as possible.
That is an activity that has enriched both my private life but also my professional research of art law.
After my studies, I plan to go back to Germany to finish my legal education to become a fully-qualified lawyer in art law. I hope to work for a specialised law firm or an auction house.
Without the Roy Goode Scholarship I might not have been able to come to CCLS to study in the niche field Art law, a unique specialism I was unable to study elsewhere. It also gave me the privilege to focus on my studies.
To all the donors of the Roy Goode Scholarship Fund I would like to thank you very much for this fantastic opportunity and I would like to encourage you to enable future students to study at CCLS also.
