Queen Mary competition law expert joins CMA Inquiry Panel
Professor Ioannis Kokkoris has been appointed to the Competition and Markets Authority Inquiry Panel by the by the United Kingdom’s Secretary of State for Business.

As part of the Panel, Professor Kokkoris will act as an independent decision maker in phase 2 market investigations, merger inquiries and regulatory appeals and other work from the CMA. His wide-ranging expertise will support the CMA’s independent work.
He was appointed through open competition based on his experiences, skills and expertise in competition law, and economics, including his prior work at international organisations, his extensive research and his numerous projects funded by the European Commission, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the World Bank and more. He is also a member of the CMA’s specialist communications and utility panels.
