Ioannis Kokkoris, Professor of Competition Law and Economics at Queen Mary University of London, discussed the EU Commission's antitrust investigation into Apple on CGTN Europe. The Commission is looking into the mandatory use of Apple's in-app purchase system and the restrictions imposed on app developers to inform iPhone and iPad users of cheaper alternatives outside of the app. Professor Kokkoris stated that: "If the Commission is right, we should be in a position to pay cheaper prices for the apps we use and for the music we stream on Spotify and other similar competitors".
