Bloomberg joins the 3-way partnership with long-standing partner Ropes & Gray LLP
Leading international law firm Ropes & Gray LLP has been a long-standing partner to qLegal. Their lawyers have been supervising qLegal students in both the advisory entrepreneurship law clinic and StreetLAB schools’ incubator programme for several years. We were delighted when the firm suggested bringing one of their clients, Bloomberg, on board in a 3-way partnership.
The Bloomberg volunteers comprise a mix of legal practitioners and compliance specialists. Following a ‘nuts and bolts’ introductory session at Bloomberg’s London office, volunteers signed up to supervise students in their giving of tailored written advice to clients; legal workshops to community groups; and publication of online resources on commercial law. Bloomberg staff are also participating in StreetLAB and have kindly agreed to host the final Pitch It competition, allowing pupils from schools in under-represented areas to experience a City working environment.
This is an exciting development for qLegal as it enables students to work alongside professionals outside legal private practice, introducing students to new networks and potential career paths, particularly as regulation and compliance are growth areas globally.
