Dr Gabriel Gari speaks on Chinese FTAs’ chapters on trade in services

Published:

Dr Gabriel Gari, Reader in International Economic Law at Queen Mary University of London (QMUL), discussed the Chinese FTAs’ chapters on trade in services on a seminar on the potential impact of an FTA between China and Uruguay for the services sector at the Catholic University of Uruguay on 4 September 2018. The presentation highlighted the limited improvement of China’s FTA specific commitments vis a vis its GATS commitments and the scant development of rules on trade in services compared with other recent FTAs such as CPTPP and CETA.
