Professor Julia Hornle: Does anybody read internet Terms and Conditions?

In a report in The Metro on ‘terms of service’, Professor Julia Hornle explains that the recent demise of the Office of Fair Trading means there is no regulator to provide guidance on what kind of T&Cs clauses may be unfair. “No one ever reads terms and conditions. In the online world, the length of terms and conditions is almost unlimited, so that many T&Cs now have more words than a Shakespeare play,” she explains.
