Cyberpunk 2077 is an action role-playing video game developed and published by CD Projekt RED in 2020. It is set in a fictional universe dreamed by Mike Pondsmith for a pen and paper role-playing game (Cyberpunk), published by R. Talsorian Games in 1988.
The Interactive Entertainment Law team from CCLS – PhD students Alexandros Alexandrou, Mike Dunford and Salvatore Fasciana, supervised by Dr Gaetano Dimita, and Dr Michaela MacDonald – use the game as a backdrop for legal analysis of complex IP products and creative ecosystems. Expect dystopian futuristic landscape, cybernetic enhancements, and extraordinary copyright twists.
