We were pleased to welcome Spark Legal Consulting to the Centre of Commercial Law Studies on Thursday 15 October, 3pm-5:45 pm, at Lincoln’s Inn Fields, Room 3.1.

Spark Legal Consulting are a Legal & Policy Consulting firm in the heart of the “EU-bubble”, based in Brussels. They do legal & policy research, mainly for the European Commission, but also many other EU institutions, for example impact assessments, feasibility studies, risk assessments and evaluations of legislation. Each year they recruit trainee researchers in Brussels.

They came to CCLS to present what it is like to work as a legal research consultant, the business opportunities, and presented a detailed case-study of a recent project on systemic risks of social media platforms in the context of the Digital Services Act.

Explore how a legal policy project was developed in view of the Commission’s Better Regulation Framework. The event was particularly relevant for those considering a career in legal consultancy, policy work or legal research.

This was a joint event by the Tech Law Institute and the CCLS Career Service, organised and hosted by Professor Julia Hornle.

There were networking drinks after the event.

This event was only for LLM and PhD students registered at QMUL.
