Why did you choose to study at CCLS?

CCLS and the overall life in London was highly recommended to me and that is when I decided to finalise and pursue my LLM degree in the United Kingdom. I had always wanted to study in London and I was fortunate to have very helpful faculties who, perennially, extended to me their timely support. Before going to the United Kingdom, I had been working with a leading tax firm in Mumbai, Maharashtra and thereafter, my obvious choice was to pursue International Tax. After learning of the experienced and capable faculties at CCLS, including Professor Philip Baker and Professor Jonathan Schwarz, I made my decision.

I still am in regular touch with Professor Schwarz and he has been quite helpful.

What was your favourite memory as a CCLS student?

To date, there are many memories that I cherish but the foremost would be the period of time spent on the campus; the boat party where we made a lot of friends and furthered a feeling of strong camaraderie. I also fondly remember the time spent at Cumberland Lodge. Every staff member, including faculties at CCLS were very warm and helpful in nature.

What does being a member of the CCLS community mean to you?

Being a part of the CCLS community is a matter of great pride to me and I have gained much in terms of international exposure. My entire perspective as a professional was transformed after getting exposure at such an early stage of my professional career. The most important thing about being part of such a community is the fact that we all made friends across borders, wherein we exchange work and information in our own jurisdictions. This helps us to grow and achieve new heights in our respective fields of profession.

How did your CCLS experience contribute to your career?

CCLS has a qualitative and important contribution in shaping my professional career and a lot of credit goes to CCLS for what we, the alumni, are today. When I went to study at CCLS in 2007, I was still a student, but when I returned to India after having completed my LLM degree from CCLS, I had been coached into a thorough professional.

Why do you think prospective students should study at CCLS?

CCLS is a great place for higher studies and to access practical exposure in a field. Having its location in London, a global financial hub, definitely pushes a student to work hard and also compete with some of the best minds in the world. CCLS is one of the colleges in London that has an exquisite and open campus, which gives CCLS an edge over other colleges. Classes are also held in Central London where students compete with other top tier university students. The diversity of students is also an important aspects because it would definitely help in building a professional network. I visit the Pre-Departure Meet every year when I am invited by the local team in New Delhi. I always recommend to the prospective students and their parents that CCLS shall extend great education and a high magnitude of cultural diversification for them.
