Why did you choose to study at CCLS?

Before entering into the LLM program for competition law, I worked in different legal positions. Currently, I am working as Group Compliance Officer. Competition law and competition law compliance became increasingly important for me.

I felt it was necessary for me to add a strong theoretical background to my practical experience. Therefore, it was a logic and natural step to study at CCLS.

At all times I felt very comfortable and it was a very enjoyable experience being back at university, even for a short time, after many years in a job. The study was beneficial for my further professional career and hardly a day goes that I do not rely on the knowledge I gained during my studies.

What does being a member of the CCLS community mean to you?

Being a member of the CCLS community makes me proud. It makes me feel that I am part of a world wide group of people who like to talk, write and think about law.

What do you think prospective students should study at CCLS?

I would say that the main reason for prospective students to study at CCLS is the combination between profound in depth knowledge and a very invaluable practical approach. For example, in the merger control class we had several external experts. Some talked about market definition, others about the international dimension of a merger. Another example would be that we had a mini moot court in one of the classes.

Finally, CCLS provides students with a very good infrastructure and a very beneficial learning environment. If you want to study law in an open and pleasant atmosphere, CCLS is definitely the right place for you.

What is your current role and place of work?

Currently, I'm working as a Group Compliance Officer for an international group of software developing companies. The companies are headquartered in Vienna.
